30 Days and My 5th Post
Yes, it has been 30 days since the humble hustler, (Jk Allen) got the website up and going. He continues to amaze with his blog and all he does to help others.
I used an article I had previously written for the Atlanta Business Chronicle, as my first ever blog post. “Now, more than ever, we need to C.A.R.E.” . And yes, the title still applies. Man, I was excited. Thank goodness, I still am. I checked out the number of subscribers and the hits on the site. I have gotten so much support from so many people and great comments.
Thanks again for the continued support and encouragement.
Nancy Davis just published her 100th blog post the other day. In less than 5 months! Wow. That seems impossible to me. Then, she had the awesome Bill Dorman guest post for #101. Now, that is how you kick off the next 100! This is my 5th post in 30 days. My goal for the first 90 days was to post once per week. I never set out to do any more, as I plan on getting out and speaking to businesses, schools and to whoever wants to hear the message of CARE. I am more of a talker than a writer, so you will be seeing a few videos from me in the next 30 days. Yeah, baby. Please do not laugh too loudly.
I know it is still early in the process, but I can’t help but wonder: How do you know if you are making a difference? I “feel” like we are, so this blog post offers suggestions and insight.
The main goal here is to provide Positive Attitude Solutions that improve morale at work and at home.
If we can get one person toCAREand Share with another person every day, we are doing good.
It has only been 30 days, so I know that I need to be patient and stay the course. And, I will. But I want so badly for more people to understand how to CARE. To really get it…to Smile, be Positive, and be Optimistic. To Communicate better, Appreciate more, Respect everyone, and Encourage others to do the same. As my friend, John Sherry said, “it is time.” Dare to CARE!
Is The CARE Movement making a difference? Are we heading in the right direction? How do you measure success? Where were you 30 days ago?
Yeah, I know. Lots of questions. Pick one or answer them all. I love to get your feedback and comments.
Thanks again and take CARE.

30 days of blogging I wasn’t totally invisible, but it still took binoculars to find me. It started jumping somewhat after that. The interesting thing was, the people where I was spending all my time and essentially making my name are not the ones who supported by blog; they never did and I don’t suppose they ever will because it’s not like I’m invisible, huh? I used to question why that was, but I think it’s my lack of direction or writing style more than anything.
However, I’m way past worrying about things like that so I would say keep the spirits up and charge ahead; you will do just fine my man.
Thanks for sharing the post and dropping me in there; have a good one today.

Hi Al,

Has it been 30 days already!?! Where has the time gone!?
I like how you started with one post per week. I started with 3 and after a few months went down to 2.
I don’t know exactly where I was in 30 days, but I’d venture a guess that you’re farther ahead! I think you’re doing a lot to get people to CARE! And your gratitude is engaging.
Stay the course would be my only advice. It’s what I keep doing over and over and over again! Keeping your goals in sight is a good idea too. Remember why you’re doing what you’re doing. These things keep me going every day- giving it all I’ve got to give!

YOU.ARW.AWESOME! Al, I can’t believe all you’ve done in just 30 days: big pat on the back to you!
I’ll pick the “how do you measure success” question, because it’s one that I think changes over time, and with circumstance.
When I started blogging 6 months ago, I had one goal: to stop self-editing. Call it the “polite Canadian/ stoic Finn” in me, but I found that I was always concerned about my words: was I being “politically correct”…was my message going to offend someone because I inadvertently crossed some cultural barrier…would I make a joke that wasn’t seen as a joke?
I can now say: Mission accomplished. Success on that front achieved.
Now, what will success look like and how will I measure it? I will harken back to the Einstein quote, “Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted, counts.” So I will use both quantitative and qualitative forms of measurement, and I will always trust my gut.
Bravo to you Al: keep up the CAREfull-icious work! (and yes…that is my new word for you) Cheers! Kaarina

Hi Al,
Congrats on all you’ve accomplished in such a short period of time. It took me half the summer just to get my act together. I would love to see videos of you speaking, so I’m really looking forward to those videos, man!
Just reading your blog and your comments makes me feel good. Love your message.
If I try to visualize success in the blogosphere I don’t know exactly what that is … too many avenues
But happiness and fulfillment is what I’m looking for my friend. A Mercedes wouldn’t hurt either, but I don’t think that’s common’
Thanks for this and THANKS for stopping by the little blog yesterday. Now, that was fun. Have a good one!
Thanks Craig. Appreciate the kind words and support. Its been a rough few days. I am looking forward to the future and all that it brings. And your blog is one of them. Best of luck, brother. A great first post, already !
Al
Hey Al, appreciate the mention my brother. I think it’s time to dare to care but you already are in action, in work, in spirit, and in communicated message. You lead from the front Al! What you’re gradually and nobly doing is standing tall to what matters in life and in people and I can only applaud your stance and determination. You are re-seeding the Earth. The sunshine of this will flower in others one day because of YOU!!!! You dare to bare…your feelings, hopes, and values. You are an inspiration.

John. Wow ! Is all I can say. Such kind and encouraging words. Always nice to hear. Best of luck with all you have going on, my friend. Look forward to all the new and exciting things you are bringing to the world. Thanks you again for all your support and ideas. Awesome.

I measure success in a variety of ways and it varies from subject to subject. But most of the time I use the “gut check” rule. If I feel good about whatever it is than it usually means that everything is ok.

Thanks Jack and I concur. The gut is always the best thing to go with. Appreciate you stopping by. Will be headin over to your blog soon. How did that powerhouse Pac 10 do this weekend ? Didn’t have time to check any scores outside of the top 25. Ha !
